(Dhaka, May 18, 2024): The Rotary Club of Dhaka PathFinders has initiated an educational sponsorship program for 26 students of মজার ইশকুল :: Mojar School — an Award-winning, sustainable education endeavour. Members of the Rotary Club of Dhaka PathFinders presented a sponsorship cheque to মজার ইশকুল :: Mojar School in presence of the sponsored students. This sponsorship marks a significant step in empowering less-privileged, street-kids through education as the club is taking guardianship (education guardian) of these 26 underprivileged children for 3 years.
Since the beginning in 2013, মজার ইশকুল :: Mojar School, an initiative of the Odommo Bangladesh Foundation, has been working dedicatedly to make Bangladesh a “Street Child Free Bangladesh.” The organisation provides quality education, food, skills development and capacity enhancement training along with employment opportunities to the underprivileged children, youth and community people.
The Rotary Club of Dhaka PathFinders, part of Rotary International, expressed their commitment to the cause through direct sponsorship of the students at Agargaon branch of the school, as well as long-term partnership in capacity building through regular sessions to be conducted by club-members as well as other networking opportunities. It is not a one-off support, rather a continued, sustainable way to enrich the future of these kids, the club mentioned.
Ms. Tabassum Hossain (Tina), President of Rotary Club of Dhaka PathFinders, said, ‘We are honoured to support the education of these 26 children at মজার ইশকুল :: Mojar School. Our mission is to create positive change in our community, and we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn and grow. Our support is a significant investment to the future of these young minds.”
Mr. Arian Arif, Founder of Odommo Bangladesh and Mojar School, said, ‘This is the largest ever support this school has received. This is a moment that defines that shows together we can make a difference and work towards a ‘Street Child Free Bangladesh.”
The program was also attended by Mr. Zeeshan Kingshuk Huq, Admin Director and Ahmed Zafrul Hasan, President-elect and members of Mojar School.
