A Blended Care System Rooted in Protection, Education, and Family First Values
Mojar School Village is designed to protect highly vulnerable children, support their education, and work toward safe family reunification whenever possible.
Protection First
Our village follows a blended care system for children who are identified through our 14 years of field experience at Under The Sky Mojar School points in Dhaka. Many of these children are street connected and live in highly unsafe situations. Some have no parents, no safe home, or no clear memory of where they were born or where their family belongs.
Legal and Safe Entry Process
When a child is found to be highly vulnerable and in urgent need of protection, we do not act informally. We follow legal and child protection steps first, including making a General Diary at the local police station. This process helps ensure that the child’s transfer is documented, responsible, and guided by safety.
Residential Care + Formal Education
After the required protective steps, the child may stay at our Residential Village, where they receive safe accommodation, daily meals, supervision, hygiene support, and emotional care. At the same time, they study in our in house formal primary school alongside local community students. This blended model allows children to grow in a natural and inclusive environment rather than feeling isolated from society.
Family First, Always
At Mojar School, we strongly believe that family comes first. No organization should ever try to compete with family. That is why, based on GD records and available information, we continue searching for the child’s parents or relatives whenever possible. If a safe and appropriate family connection is found, we work toward responsible family handover with proper follow up. Our role is not to replace family, but to protect, guide, and support the child until the safest long term solution becomes possible.
Why This Model Matters
- Protects children from immediate street risk
- Creates a legal and documented care pathway
- Connects residential care with formal education
- Blends village children and UTSMS children in one learning space
- Keeps family reunification as a core principle
Two Core Parts of the Village
The village is designed in two connected parts so that children receive both structured learning and, when needed, safe residential care.
