Eid al-Adha 2020: Sharing Joy and Nourishment with the Underprivileged Community

Eid al-Adha 2020 was unlike any other—celebrated during a time of uncertainty and hardship for many around the world. But even amid challenges, the spirit of sacrifice, unity, and generosity continued to shine through.

This year, Mojar School was proud to organize a special Qurbani distribution program, through which we were able to share the blessings of Eid with those who needed it most. Thanks to the unwavering support of our generous donors, we successfully sacrificed 10 cows and 3 goats, distributing fresh meat & cooked food to hundreds of underprivileged families in our surrounding communities.

Honoring the True Spirit of Eid

Eid al-Adha is a powerful symbol of humanity’s generosity and selflessness. At Mojar School, we believe that the essence of this festival lies not only in religious ritual but in caring for others, especially those who are less fortunate.

By distributing meat to marginalized families and underprivileged children, we were able to help ensure they, too, could partake in the joy and nourishment of this sacred occasion.

A Festival of Sharing

Eid al-Adha reminds us that true celebration comes not just in performing the ritual sacrifice, but in ensuring that others share in its blessings. Islam encourages dividing the meat into three parts: one-third for the family, one-third for relatives and friends, and one-third for those in need. By prioritizing the underserved in our distribution, we upheld the essence of this beautiful tradition.

Community Impact

The smiles on the faces of the recipients were the true reward of this effort. For many, receiving fresh meat is a rare occasion, and being able to serve a hearty Eid meal brought dignity, happiness, and a sense of inclusion. Each package was carefully prepared, hygienically handled, and respectfully distributed to ensure it reached those who needed it most.
