A new horizon of education, skills, and dignified employment for street children after a 14-year journey

Dhaka, March 8, 2026: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan and Mojar School signed an agreement to work together to ensure dignified employment opportunities for underprivileged students. Initially, two students—Rani and Fatema Akter Mim—from two branches of Mojar School will receive this opportunity. The organizers stated that the initiative will gradually be expanded in the future.

Hidden behind the busy urban life of Dhaka, many children once grew up on sidewalks, railway stations, or in the harsh realities of slums. Today, many of them are standing in a completely different reality. Some have become teachers shaping young minds, some are working in internationally recognized five-star hotels, while others are building their careers as professionals in the hospitality industry. Behind this transformation lies a social initiative—মজার ইশকুল :: Mojar School.

Founded in 2013 from a small initiative on social media, Mojar School has now become a significant organization working for the education and human development of street children. Over the past 14 years, the organization has not only ensured access to formal education but has also contributed to positive life transformations by creating opportunities for skills development, food support, and employment.

One of the most inspiring outcomes of this initiative is that children who once slept on the streets, begged, or survived through small informal work are now working as professional staff in five-star hotels.

The founder of Mojar School, Arian Arif, said:

“Our goal was never just to put books in children’s hands. We wanted them to stand in life with dignity. Today, when we see our students working in five-star hotels and supporting their families, it feels like our dream is gradually becoming a reality.”

Karthi V. K., General Manager of Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan, said:

“On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Crowne Plaza has launched a women’s skills development training program for the first time. Through this initiative, initially two students aged 18 and above from Mojar School are receiving training. Although the number is small for now, we plan to expand the initiative in the future. We believe that creating opportunities for skill development is more important than simply providing assistance. Through this training, we aim to open pathways for sustainable employment opportunities for these students.”

Mojar School’s education programs are currently operating in several areas including Dhaka, Mymensingh, Kuakata, and Monpura in Bhola. The organization provides free education, books, clothing, food, and necessary support for children. At the same time, it creates opportunities for moral education, life skills development, and vocational skills training.

Through these continuous efforts, many students have been able to rise from difficult circumstances and secure dignified professional opportunities. Children who were once marginalized in society are now emerging as productive members of the same community.

Officials of Mojar School stated that their goal in the coming years is to create employment opportunities for more children through education and skills development. They believe that when the life of a child changes, a family can change—and when many children’s lives change, society itself can transform.
